I hear, read and see where people speak of global warming, climate change and whether they believe it or not.  Some will get hung up on a famous person’s crusade or aid in one of these categories and point out their lifestyle that conflicts with their cause.  Just like many of those whose goal is to discredit or prove the other side’s point, they are the ones to miss the point.

Sure you can argue whether its global warming, or climate change but you cannot argue fossil fuels, fracking, various chemicals, where their overuse and misuse of land, air, water.  I believe a more appropriate name for our global issue is, the “Depleting Sustainable Environment”, and are being caused by ten major contributors;

  1. Population of earth and the proper use of resources to feed them sustainably
  2. Confined Animal Farming Operations (CAFO), including their waste produced
  3. Chemicals and Agricultural enhancement effects on our environment
  4. Greed and Corporate producers command over their suppliers
  5. Local and National government regulations straining the local farms
  6. Dependency on southern, western states and imports in the off seasons growing
  7. Corn and Soy growth
  8. Soil nutrition building plants (for a rotating crop)
  9. Insect life disbursement and/or loss
  10. Loss of true local human edible crops farms

The above are either caused by or an effect of the other contributor listed.  For example, #4 reduces #10.  #7 directly pushes out #9.  #2 is dependent (currently) on #7.  If you were to support or encourage the local farmer in sustainable techniques, all but #1, 4 & 5 will develop, grow and sustain the not only the food sources, but the families and communities well-being.

The human being is very adaptable, yet in many cases resists change. Ok, we will change easily for something that is easier an effort. We will work less when the opportunity arises.  Unfortunately there are few of us that will work harder for what is actually truly better or best for us.  Yet there are even fewer that will know what is best and what arises that is better, and work hard to make it happen.  That is where we are at as a society today.

We have depleted our underground water, ecologically depleted our bodies of water and nutritionally depleted our land from continually farming the same crop or same rotated crops that add no value to the human beings health.  To such an extent that even the Cattle, Chickens, Pigs raised in enormous quantities within the CAFO are themselves, in the process from their birth to their death, additionally depletes and misused our resources.

When I watch the news between Fox and CNN and network television and web feeds, no one and I mean no one even understands that the people who built and sustained the thousands of small and medium sized towns, are the core of this wonderful country. The sides that are taken by our politicians who are voted to represent us and protect us, are failing like a child spoiled from birth that thinks talking is important and gets things done.

What this means is that our trust, guidance and leadership in this great country has also been depleted.  Perhaps that is the natural path of those that were at one time, our youth and are now many of our leaders, have had their roots and childhood references and memories depleted as well.  To the point, they have forgotten or have been corrupted and detached from the people who struggle against many issues that directly out of their control on a day to day basis.

The big picture is made up of hundreds of million little individual pictures.  All of them with families and loved ones, with a simple expectation of being done right by.

Raised on a 20 acre farm with all the animals in rural Indiana. I picked up rocks out of farm field before planting season, cooked in a pancake house for a couple years, worked in a factory, joined the Navy, back to the factory then College. I took for granted the simple natural (and unnatural) foods we grew that we raised, and the snacks and cereals we bought. I had a hard working mother I love, even now that she is gone, and a there but not there father. It went by so fast. I sincerely believe we can reintroduce the local farms that sustain and bring together communities. I am looking for sincere individuals to assist me with pursuing my passion to bring a business model to community, prove concept and make it work. Then reeducate the generations.
